About Us

Founded by Chris and Amanda Flynt in 2022, The Hiwasse Mercantile is a modern-day general store, where old meets new.

Their journey began late 2020 when they set their hearts on restoring an old “eye sore” of a building. Previously known as Hiwasse Produce and Grocery, the fragile 100+ year old building had been vacant for years. Many advised them to tear it down and start fresh, but they were determined to save the memories that were held in those old walls. After lots of preparation, planning and hard work, the Hiwasse Mercantile was restored and opened late 2022.

Located in Northwest Arkansas, the Merc is a one stop shop for meat, cheeses, pantry dry good items, local provisions, household items and unique gifts. We truly believe there is something for everyone in our store.
